Wondering if my 5 yr old son might have celiac disease?
My son has been struggling with temperment and health issues for quite some time now. He seems to constantly being having stomach troubles...diahrea, constipation, gas...and seems to go from one ailment to another...colds, etc. He is a really picky eater and often complains about his stomach hurting. Both at home and school, there are times when he will be really emotional or irritable. He does fine in school but has times where he is fine one minute and defiant the next. We've tried numerous things to solve the problem. He also has chronic dry skin on his hands and face...on his hands it gets so bad they crack if I don't keep lotion on them. I recently started reading about food intolerances and it's affects on children and also came across celiace disease. Does what I describe above fall in line with celiac symptoms?His Dad has had REALLY bad stomach problems for as long as I've known him. I'm kind of wondering if he has it too then? I made an appoiontment with our family doctor. I bought some gluten free items at the store to see if they would help his behavior at school. But now I'm wondering if I need to wait since they might do a blood test at the appointment next week. Any pointers to mention at my appt? I would really like to outright ask them to test him for celiac...even if it comes back negative, I'll at least have an answer Another thing I thought of is that he recently had this sore on the inside of his lip...it was like white bump. But it went away. Don't know if it's related

i was just diagnoised with celiac disease and im trying to cope with it. i already have many other health issues such as acid reflux disease, asthma, some kind of sleeping disorder that i cant quite figure out, and im bipolar. i dont know much about celiac and im trying to learn more about it. does anyone have it or know about it? ive looked on the web but im looking for more of a human answer than some article on it.
Can any blood test detect Celiac disease?
I was recently diagnosed with IBS after taking numerous tests to cancel out the possibility of other diseases. I had a blood test, stool test, breath test, ultra sound, and i will probably be getting a colonoscopy in a couple months. I don't know what kind of blood test it was, but i'm wondering if definitely gets rid of the possibility of celiac disease, of if it has to be specific blood test that i might not have had. If it is a specific blood test, would my doctor have for sure already done that test before diagnosing me?i don't want to go make an appointment for a celiac test, i just want to know if under the standard protocal, i would have been tested already
